Wayne Edson Trusdell's Obituary
Wayne Edson Trusdell, born on January 31, 1935, in Columbus, Ohio, to parents Melville Trusdell and Trina (Harris) Trusdell, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 90.
Wayne was born and raised in Columbus, where his love for design and detail led him to a successful career as a draftsman for Texaco. In 1968, when Texaco merged, Wayne and his family relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he continued his career and built a wonderful life.
On September 6, 1958, Wayne married the love of his life, Sally. Together, they shared 67 beautiful years of marriage and raised one son, David, who was Wayne’s pride and joy. The family loved traveling together to visit relatives and explore new places.
Wayne had many hobbies and passions throughout his life. He was an avid model airplane builder, often entering and winning contests for his precise and detailed creations. He also loved gardening, especially when he could share the experience with David—and in the early years, he and Sally enjoyed spending time together square dancing.
Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. His lifelong admiration for aviation continued long after his service, and he always looked forward to attending air shows and watching airplanes soar through the sky.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Floral Haven. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Floral Haven Rose Chapel.
Wayne will be remembered for his dedication to family, his steady work ethic, and his kind and gentle nature. His legacy of love and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
