Wayne A. Walker, 95, passed away December 5, 2016 at his home in Tulsa, OK. Visitation will be held Thursday 6 – 8 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, OK. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 9th at Carbondale Assembly of God Church, Tulsa, OK. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery, Broken Arrow, OK.Wayne was born September 1, 1921, to James Monroe and Minnie Olive Walker of Thomas, Oklahoma. He graduated from Stafford High School in Cordell, OK. Wayne served in the US Navy during World War II as a Radio Operator on the aircraft carrier, USS Cape Esperance. He married Blanche Crane on July 20, 1946 in Sayre, OK. They moved to Duncan, OK in 1950 after his graduation from Southwestern State College, Weatherford, OK. Wayne was a chemical engineer for Halliburton Oil Well Services in Duncan, OK retiring in 1979 after 29 years of service.Wayne is survived by his wife, Blanche; children, Brenda (David) Kelly of Corpus Christi, TX, Kay Wilkinson of Springfield, MO, Ken (Reane) Walker of Kilgore, TX, and Beth (Rick) Isham of Jenks, OK; 11 Grandchildren; 23 Great-Grandchildren, 11 Great-Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, six sisters, one daughter, Joann Ferrell and one great-granddaughter, Evie Reddick.In lieu of flowers a donation in Wayne’s honor may be made to Teen Challenge of Oklahoma.
