Wayne Allen Whitehead's Obituary
Wayne “Allen” Whitehead, 76, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, December 15th, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Allen was born on September 13, 1948 to Wayne and Dorothy Whitehead in Wichita Falls, Texas. He graduated from SH Rider High School in 1967 and was a member of the Rider Golf Team. Allen studied accounting and finance at Midwestern University.
Allen worked in the food brokerage industry for years before he and his wife, Joni, opened a staffing company that they joyfully ran together for 26 years. In 2012, Allen found his purpose and served in the South Dallas community at BridgeBuilders for 5 years and Our Calling, a homeless ministry, from 2016 until he retired, December 2023.
Allen and his wife moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 2018 to be closer to Lee and Emily. He created many memories doing what he enjoyed the most. . . playing golf with his many friends. Allen lived a life of love for God, family and friends. He was known for his cultivation of many genuine friendships and was always full of love and laughter.
Allen was preceded in death by his father, Wayne and his mother Dorothy. He is survived by Joni, his loving wife of 42 years, his son Lee Whitehead and his wife Emily, his sister Shelley Haven and her husband Ed, his niece Kristen Calvo and his nephew Ross Haven.
