I'm late to the party but holy cow a world without Wendy seems wrong. She laughed at the most inappropriate jokes and horrible things with zero boundaries and full commitment to speaking her mind. We worked together for just a few years back in the late 90's/early 2000's but she easily remains one of the most singularly unique and memorable people I've ever known. I'll keep the dirty jokes flowing in your honor Wendy, you can count on it!

Despite a strained relationship in our adult years, I would do it all over again to be with the best little sister anyone could wish for, Wendy Avila Lopez. She is with her daughter, Bianca, and knowing the devastation she lived with, it brings my family (brother-in-law, Karl; niece, Jasmine Olivarez; and Jasmine’s father and Wendy’s former brother-in-law, Richard Olivarez), and myself, great joy to know that my Wendy-woman is finally at peace. When she crossed the rainbow, she took with her a piece of our hearts. May my little sister rest in all the power and glory she deserves.

Although I have known Wendy for many years, and have had many conversations with her, I didn't get the privilege submerging myself in the "Wendy" experience as those closest to her. As a friend she was a person I knew as intelligent, introspective, honest, well spoken, intuitive to those around her, loyal to those she loved, a lovely person that knew her own mind, and was an overall class act. Her personality was an impressive style all her own and it will be missed in so many ways, by so many people.
My thoughts are with her family, and I hope their sadness will become easier with each passing day.
