Willard Dean Chambers' Obituary
Willard Dean Chambers
December 6, 1946 – November 12, 2025
Willard Dean Chambers, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 78.
Dean was born on December 6, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Willard Lawton Chambers and Wanda Larue (Adkins) Chambers. He grew up in Oklahoma and Texas, spending most of his elementary school years in Portland, Texas, before moving back to Tulsa when he began junior high. Dean and his siblings were very close to their stepmother, June, who came into their lives at a young age and remained a cherished presence.
In 1964, Dean answered the call of duty and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, from June 15, 1964, to November 27, 1967. His years of service reflected his courage, dedication, and commitment to his country. After joining the Navy, Dean married the love of his life, Barbara Kay, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with devotion and joy.
Following his military service, Dean pursued a career in the culinary arts, where he became known for his skill, leadership, and hospitality. He served as executive chef for Ponca City Country Club and later at the Country Club at Woodland Hills, leaving a lasting mark on both institutions and the many lives he touched through his work.
Dean’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Kay Chambers; his children, Aaron Chambers, Deena Ward, Brandon Chambers, and Jaime Stephens; his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings Barbara Christmann (Chris), Dan Chambers (Kathy), Ray Chambers (Tracy), Sharon McCulley (David), Carolyn McGovran, and Rhonda Anderson. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember his warmth, humor, and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Chambers and Wanda Francis; brothers William Chambers and Carroll Lee “Bo” Madden; and his beloved stepmother, June Chambers.
Dean’s life was defined by service, love, and dedication—to his country, his craft, and most of all, his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The funeral service is pending at this time.
