Willard George Osborne's Obituary
Willard G Osborne, age 91, went to be with the Lord on 9-07-17. He was born Feb. 26, 1926 in Linden, NJ. Bill grew up in Newark, NJ and graduated from Barringer High School. He served in the USNavy from May 16, 1944 to June 27, 1946. His tour of duty was in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. He came to Tulsa and attended the Spartan School of Aerojnautics, graduating in 1948. Bill was employed by the Public Service Company of Oklahoma from Feb. 1949 until retirement on Dec. 31st, 1983. He was a long time member of the Tulsa Homebuilders Association, and the Oklahoma Striper Association. He was married to Jane Parkison Oct. 7, 1949 who preceded him in death on 1-05-2001 after a long illness. they had one child, a son, Chris Lyn who died in 2012. One grandchild, Kyle Buck Osborne living in Anderson, Indiana.They both joined The First United Methodist Church on Dec. 1, 2001. He married Lettie Huntley on Feb. 16, 2002. He became the step-dad of her 5 children, Rob Huntley, Harold Huntley, Colleen Breske (Huntley), Jean Scherschligt (Huntley), and Chris Huntley.He acquired 2 step-grandchildren, Samantha Hardin (Huntley) and Dylan Huntley., and one step-great grandchild, Harper Lee Hardin.Bill loved hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. In retirement he volunteered as instructor to children with the Dept. of Wildlife conservation, in their Aquatic Education program. Bill received Jesus as saviour in 1952. He was a charter member of the Berean Baptist church until joining the First United Methodist Church in 2001. A viewing will be held on Thursday,,Sept. 14th from 10am to 8pm at Floral Haven Chapel. Funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 15th at 12:30pm at Floral Haven Funeral Chapel with interment following the service.Bill was a special kind of guy, loved people. He will be greatly missed in this life, but forever with the Lord in the next.In lieu of flowers ,, donations can be made to the “Raise The Roof ” fund in memory of Bill.
