William Leon Bethea's Obituary
William “Bill” Bethea, 70, passed away on November 25, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Bill was the beloved son of William Sr. and Joyce Bethea. From an early age, he carried with him the values instilled by his family—kindness, patience, and a quiet strength that touched every person he met.
On December 5, 1983, Bill married the love of his life, Ginger Dean, at Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa. Their marriage was a true partnership, built on deep respect, devotion, and an unwavering sense of humor that kept their home warm and joyful. Bill was a dependable presence who always put others before himself. He cared for everyone around him with a rare combination of loyalty, gentleness, and wisdom.
Bill had an enduring passion for NASCAR and all things related to racing. Whether he was watching a race, talking cars, or tinkering with anything that had an engine, he lit up with enthusiasm. His love of racing reflected the energy he brought to life—spirited, driven, and always ready to enjoy the ride.
Known for his easy-going personality and sharp wit, Bill had a natural ability to make people laugh and feel at ease. He was funny, intelligent, and exceptionally patient—traits that made him not only admired but deeply loved. Those who knew him will remember the way he lifted others up, often without saying a word, simply by being present, steady, and kind.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William Leon & Joyce Bethea, sister Mary Elise Peterson, sister Ruth Archer, nephew Charles Archer and niece Elizabeth.
Bill is survived by his wife Ginger, daughter Katelyn Bethea, daughter Marlena Bethea, sister Diana Sanabria and husband Chris, brother Tom Bethea and wife Tebra, grandson Oliver Davis Bethea Helm, nephews Curtis Bethea, Jarred Bethea, Leon Spencer, Evan Peterson, nieces Rachel Evans, Erin Peterson, Emry Peterson, Izy Spencer, Allie Bethea, Julie Archer, great-nephew Dylan Archer, along with numerous cousins, friends, and loved ones.
