William "Bill" Cathey's Obituary
William Shepherd Cathey, 88, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021. He was born on September 4, 1932, in Simsboro, LA to Ben Lee Cathey and Mattie Shepherd Cathey. He died from heart complications from AFIB that he has had for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and his wife Mildred Mrytle Cathey. He is survived by his son Tim and his wife Sherry of Vera, OK and daughter Sue Wagner and her husband Bill of Tulsa, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews from both sides of the family. He is a graduate of Simsboro High School Class of 1951. He was in Air Force for 4 years and was Honorably Discharged in June 1955. He worked at American Airlines for 35 years before retiring to take care of Mildred until her passing. He was active in Masons and Eastern Stars in Oologah, OK. Services will be held Wednesday, February 3, at 10:00 am at Floral Haven Chapel. Memorials may be sent to American Heart Association/American Stroke Association PO Box 841125 Dallas, TX 75284-1125
