William Douglas' Obituary
Bill Douglas was born on November 9th, 1947 and passed away on November 21st, 2018 to be with his heavenly father. Bill and his wife, Brenda, were married 50 years and spent the first eight years of their marriage in Virginia and Georgia where Bill was stationed in the U.S. Navy. Bill had a long, successful career in sales and traveled to Europe, Asia and Central America during his business career. In the first 12 years of their marriage Bill and Brenda lived in nine different cities but settled down in 1980 in Tulsa where they were blessed to be with their families and raise their two wonderful sons.Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lue Douglas. Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda; son Brian Douglas, daughter-in-law Aimee, grandson Spencer; son Brandon Douglas, daughter-in-law Lindsey, grandsons Fisher and Alexander; sister Tommi Goforth, brother-in-law Gary Goforth; sister-in-law Rita McMillan, brother-in-law Jimmie McMillan; sister-in-law Gail Selvidge, brother-in-law Jeff Selvidge; his uncle Johnny Williams and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.Family gatherings will never be the same without Bill, he had a big personality as well as a big heart. He loved to laugh and ALWAYS had a joke to tell. Bill was genuinely interested in everyone he met and had life-long friendships he maintained from coast to coast. Bill loved sports and loved being outdoors playing golf with his friends as many times during the week as he could sneak away.Of course, Bill loved his wife, sons and daughters-in-law but when Bill became a grandfather his whole world changed. He adored his grandsons, Spencer, Fisher and Alex.It is hard to imagine our lives now without Bill. We will love him forever.Our family is so grateful to Clarehouse for wrapping us in love and comfort during the last days of Bill’s life.A celebration of Bill’s life will be held in the Rose Chapel at Floral Haven on Saturday, December 8th at 11:00 AM. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s honor may be made to Clarehouse, 7617 S Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK 74133.
