William Curtis Fossett, Jr's Obituary
William Curtis Fossett, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 8, 2009. Curtis was born November 4, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas to Bill and Ruby Fossett. Curtis spent his childhood in Osborne, Kansas, a close-knit farming community in northern Kansas. After graduating from Osborne High School in 1963, Curtis attended Fort Hays State College where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1967. Upon graduation from Fort Hays State, Curtis moved to Tulsa, where he began his career as an accountant. Curtis spent most of his professional career with two employers – MAPCO, Inc. and Educational Development Corporation where he worked for eighteen years each, retiring from Educational Development Corporation in 2007. Curtis was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Broken Arrow. Throughout his life, Curtis was an avid reader and stamp collector. Also, Curtis enjoyed a number of sports, being a lifelong fan of baseball, football and college basketball. Later in life he developed an affinity for soccer, most recently being a passionate fan of his grandchildren’s soccer teams. A professional colleague commented that nothing in life had a place ahead of attending one of his four grandchildren’s soccer games. Curtis was a man of integrity, who believed passionately that it was important to be upright in all his dealings, whether large or small. Contributions may be made in his honor to John 3:26 Mission or Berea College in Berea, KY. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow with Interment following in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Floral Haven 252-2518.Survived By: Curtis is survived by numerous friends, colleagues and family, including son Ray and daughter-in-law Tracy, and grandchildren Jourdan, Will, Matt and Abby, who he loved deeply.
