William "Bill" Nelson Fitzhugh's Obituary
William Nelson Fitzhugh passed into the loving arms of our savior Jesus Christ on July 15, 2010. He was a devoted father to Patrick William Fitzhugh and a devoted husband to Marla Jean Fitzhugh. He was also father of William Nelson Fitzhugh II of Lynchburg, Virginia. He is also survived by a grandson Thomas Nelson Fitzhugh of Rockford, Illinois and daughter in law Kelly Fitzhugh of Joliet, Illinois, a niece Jamie Coughlin of Denver, Colorado, a brother in law Larry Neese of Mobile, Alabama and numerous cousins, uncles and aunts in Arkansas. Bill was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, the son of Leslie R. Fitzhugh and Grace Jones Fitzhugh. Three years later they moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where Bill graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1957 and The University of Central Arkansas in 1961. He also graduated from several other colleges and universities in Arkansas, Indiana and Connecticut. The first twenty years after college was in the business world working for The Coca-Cola Company, Cadbury Schweppes USA and several other food and beverage companies. In 1995 Bill devoted his life to the service and care of the elderly and infirmed. He became a healthcare proffesional in geriatrics, nutrition and Naturopathy. The last four years of his life were spent as a Home Healthcare Professional serving the elderly and infirmed population in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held at the Grace Church Chapel. Bill was preceded in death by his son John Frederick Fitzhugh in 1993, his father Leslie R. Fitzhugh in 1997, and his mother Grace Jones Fitzhugh in 1998 and his sister Beverly Ann Neese in 2009.
