William B. Nesbitt's Obituary
William Burton (Burt) Nesbitt, 104, passed away, Friday, December 7, 2018 at a Katy, Texas, hospital. Funeral Services will be at 12:30pm on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Floral Haven Funeral Chapel, 6500 S 129th East Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S Memorial Dr Tulsa, OK 74145. Burt was born on December 1, 1914, in Justiceburg, Texas to Robert and Nina Malone Nesbitt. He graduated from Central High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and went on to graduate with an electrical engineering degree from Oklahoma A & M, which later became Oklahoma State University. He retired from Public Service of Oklahoma (PSO) in 1980. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Burt, and both wives, attended College Hill Presbyterian Church. Burt and Gladys were married at College Hill. Burt and Gladys later transferred to St Andrew Presbyterian Church in Tulsa. Burt and Gladys enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, and, of course, dancing. Burt played golf with buddies at Rolling Hills Country Club often, but at least every Saturday, and had a 24 handicap. They were members of the PSO Circuit Riders square dancing club and attended numerous ballroom dancing venues. Burt loved playing pool in the KT room at Atria Cinco Ranch Senior Living with his numerous partners and competitors including Jo, Bram, Sam, and others. He also enjoyed the camaraderie with his dining table buddies at meals. Burt was a charter member of the Masonic, Delta Lodge in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Burt married Gladys Johnson Bills Nesbitt on September 17, 1977, and inherited his only children, Gilbert Harold Bills (wife Diann), Arvilla Bills Carruth (husband Robert, deceased), and Carolyn Bills Hansen (husband Charles). He was preceded in death by both of his parents, two sisters, one brother and a beloved grandson. Burt survived both, well-loved wives, Loha (Lincoln) (40 years), and Gladys (38 years). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Nephew, Reverend Tuney Ropp, will perform the services. He will be missed by family and friends.
