William Wayne Shea's Obituary
On September 25, 2023 William ("Bill") Wayne Shea, a beloved lifelong resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 after battling throat cancer and heart disease for several years. Throughout his remarkable life, he left an enduring mark on the hearts of those who knew him. As a dedicated Christian, Bill enjoyed studying the Bible and participating in church activities.
Bill was born and raised in Tulsa where he attended Lowell Junior High and Central High School where he graduated in 1963. During his high school years, Bill showcased his athletic ability by excelling in baseball, leaving behind fond memories of his days on the diamond and the lasting friendships that developed.
In years past Bill often enjoyed the sport of tennis. Whether competing on the court or simply enjoying a match with friends, he found a great deal of pleasure in the game. Bill's love for family gatherings was equally evident, as he cherished times spent together with his relatives. Bill was known within the family as the resident videographer and photographer, capturing countless valuable memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Bill also enjoyed traveling, and he particularly relished his trips to the picturesque mountains of Colorado for fun-filled snow skiing adventures. These trips allowed him to appreciate the beauty of nature and create lasting memories with family and friends. For several years his travel plans also included annual trips to Branson, Missouri for entertainment and time with family.
Bill dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career as a salesman and consultant for both KP Restaurant Supply and Curtis Restaurant Supply. He was known for going the extra mile for his customers. He also put in many hours managing several rental properties owned by he and his wife.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara (Lair) Shea, who shared his interests and loved him throughout their marriage of 46 years. He is also survived by his uncle Dan Shea and wife Janice; sister-in-law, Shirley Brandon; sister-in-law, Sharon Stone, and brother-in law, Johnny Edwards, along with a vast circle of friends and extended family who will forever remember his warmth and kindness.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Casey Shea; his father, William David Shea; his sisters Judy Denley and Martha Shea; his brother Gene Shea, and his favorite canine companions Susie, Tobey and Casey. Together, they watch over him from above, their love and memories a constant presence in our hearts.
Bill touched the lives of many with his love and kindness. He will be deeply missed.
A private burial for Bill will be held at Floral Haven Cemetery rather than a formal service.
