I had lost touch with Duke, but knew him several years back. I sadly recently learned of his passing. Duke was smart, funny and witty. He introduced me to Blues music and told me Van Morrisons song Tupelo Honey was made for me. I think of him everytime i hear that song. He wrote the best letters and was charming and kind. His daughter was the love of his life and from what I witnessed, the best kind of father. He described the beauty of his mother like a poet. He brought me soup when I was sick, stood in line with me for hours for Elton John concert tickets and visited me in the hospital when I was ill. He was such a good kind soul. I regret losing touch. I regret not knowing of his passing for so long and not paying my respects personally to his family. I hope peace has surrounded them all. Duke, you truly were one of a kind. I'll never ever forget you.
