Remembering Mr. Stevens…thanks for being a leader, setting the example and being one of those dads in the neighborhood that was always around. Everytime I take out that Texaco pen I think about you giving it to me some 25 or 30 years ago. Rest in peace sir.

To all the family— I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad, your husband, your friend. You all knew him as the funny, smart, truly intelligent man that he was, and .he was loved by you all. But to me, well, to me…..my Uncle Billy was my hero. He was 10 years older and I thought him to be the most wonderful uncle in the world. Although I had other uncles, Bill was the youngest of them all, and who, evidently, thought having a small little girl idolizing him was either terrific, or he was just very tolerant and patient because…well, because for one thing, he could tie shoes — mine! Over and over again. He could pick you up and swing you in the air, he could play hide and seek behind grandma's sofa or in grandpa's garden, we could walk to the store all by ourselves! .He could play the piano and I could sit on the same piano bench and watch. As I said, he was my hero and I thought him awesome…always have, always will. I love you, Uncle Billy…. Lylene
I, too, have great memories of working with Bill back during the late 60's when he was Manager of the Scientific Apps Div. We also carpooled from the old Wagon Wheel neighborhood to the Skelly/Getty/Texaco Building. Great guy, a gentleman and a scholar. Elva, my sincere and heartfelt sympathies are yours at this time.
I always enjoyed working for Bill, in the mid 80's, and his sense of humor! The lack of formality in the office and beyond, and especially those annual SHARE conventions. I will miss you, Bill. I still have the coffee mug you gave me, that says "CEO of Diddly Squat"! And, Elva, I will be thinking of you a lot in the coming weeks.John & Sherry Davis
I always enjoyed Bill's stories and the way he loved picking on Grace. He had such a wonderful sense of humor. I call Wanda's family, my extended family and Bill and Grace are part of that family. My heart aches for Grace and all my extended family that have to endure this loss. We will still have lots of smiles and laughs with all the happy memories he has left for us. All our love, Susan and Wayne
The laughs we have all shared. We thank God , Grace brought you into our lives. Jonesey, Jan and John
