Wilma J. Hughes' Obituary
Wilma Jean Hughes, 72, of Broken Arrow, OK passed away peacefully on October 23, 2019. The funeral service will be held Tuesday October 29th at 10 am in the Chapel at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow. This will be followed by a celebration of her life at the Floral Haven Family Center from 11 am to 1 pm. Visitation will be Monday October 28th from 11 am to 8 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Wilma was born in Broken Arrow, OK on December 3, 1946. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for many years before retiring last year from Hillcrest Medical Center. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and many other types of crafts. She loved the outdoors whether she was at a baseball game with her kids, working in her garden, or just sitting on her front porch.Wilma loved life but most importantly she loved her family and her friends. She is survived by her husband Alven Hughes, her son Dale Wallace and his wife Lisa, her son Jerry Hughes and his wife Linda, her sisters Karen Staton and Sherry Chance, grandsons Jacob and Josh Wallace, and granddaughter Cheri Carlock, and three great-grandchildren. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Luther and Maudie Wallace, sisters Frances Carneal and Judith Ross, and her brother James Wallace.She was a wonderful person with a beautiful soul. She will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.
