Winifred "Freddie" Louise Rountree's Obituary
Winifred “Freddie” Louise Peters-Rountree was born to Ruby and Phillip DeBrucque on April 28, 1925 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She had four siblings, Alene, Phillip, Bill and Marilyn. Freddie went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 28, 2015. Freddie as she was known to everyone; was a beloved and respected wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Freddie remained in Tulsa for the rest of her life and married Curtis Peters in 1942. After World War II was over, they welcomed three children into this world; Rebecca, Deborah and Martin. They were raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma as well and the family had a full life in many ways. Freddie and her family always loved the outdoors; including spending weekends at Tenkiller Lake and went fishing often. Freddie was so proud when Ashley, her granddaughter caught her first fish. She dearly loved Anna and Sarah, her youngest granddaughters who entertained her on a regular basis with their music and artwork. She also enjoyed a lively game of bridge with friends. They were members of Will Rogers United Methodist Church and were married for 42 years until his death. Later, Winifred married Robert Rountree in 1990 and had a very happy 22 years of marriage before he passed away. Freddie will be greatly missed by friends and family. Freddie is survived by her daughter Rebecca Kroll; daughter Deborah Battese and her husband Philip; son Martin Peters; grandchildren Ashley Sokoloski and her husband Eric, Anna Kroll and Sarah Kroll; great-grandchildren Conner, Chase, Traden and Kennedy Sokoloski and her sister Marilyn Vale. Freddie is preceded in passing by her parentsPhillip and Ruby DeBrucque; first husband Curtis Peters; second husband Robert “Bob” Rountree; sister Alene Hampton; brother Phillip DeBrucque and brother William DeBrucque.
