Wright, Keith's Obituary
Keith Wright, 85 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Sunday, April 26, 2020 in a Tulsa hospital with family by his side. He was born March 19, 1935 in Rochester, Pennsylvania to his parents, Herbert Vincent Wright and Hannah Louise Murray Wright. He married the love of his life, Mary Lucille "Luci" Tharpe on June 13, 1963 in Kentucky and they have shared over 57 wonderful years together, making many, many great memories.
Keith was a U.S. Army Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. He worked in the institutional food service industry in various positions from Restaurant Manager, ultimately retiring from Sodexo as a District Manager in 2003. He worked on college campuses across the country including Florida State University, George Washington University, Case Western University, University of Toledo, University of Missouri, Northern Arizona University, Western Kentucky University and Loyola. The college atmosphere kept him young and fun loving. He was famous for his hospitality and enjoyed a good party. Keith particularly excelled at bonfires and fireworks. He was first and foremost a family man. Keith and Luci were utterly devoted to each other and set a good example to their kids and grandkids with a successful marriage.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Luci Wright of the home; his four children, Kim Beck and her husband Tim of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Pam Wright and her partner Sam of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Donna Bennett and her husband Mike of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Jim Wright and his wife Tammy of Rochester Hills, Michigan; one sister, Norma Alexander of Norwalk, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Joel (Chelsea), Erica (Michael), Connie (Terry), Kelly, Clif (Belen), Dusten (Theresa), Keith (Murranda) and London (Kyla); thirteen great-grandchildren, Mason, Ava, Xander, Alice, Taj, Lucy, Elena, Liam, Dusten, Ava, Landen, Faith, Delilah and Payton; and many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Hannah Wright; one son, Norman Wright; two brothers, Bert and Don Wright; and a daughter-in-law, Kim Hekker.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2020 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jessie Ray Tharpe officiating.
