Wynona Faye Level's Obituary
Wynona Faye (Richardson) Level Wynona Faye Richardson Level of Tulsa passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. Wynona was 88 years of age. She was born December 29, 1925, in Pearson, OK to Virgil Earl Richardson and Katie May Maner Richardson. She attended St. Louis, OK schools and graduated with the class of 1944. Wynona married James L. Level on August 3, 1950 in Ozark, Arkansas. They had two children, James and Janice. Mrs. Level worked in photography and retail sales for a while after high school but became a full time homemaker after she married and had children. She was a faithful member and servant at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church and then Gracemont Baptist Church for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved the Lord above all. She enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, traveling with her husband to historical sites and working on the genealogy of her family and extended family. She adored her 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who all lovingly called her “Meme”. Wynona lived in several places, including New York, while her husband, James, was serving in the Navy. But they finally settled in Tulsa and called it home for about 45 years. Later, she moved to Oklahoma City in 2004 to be cared for by her granddaughter. She moved in with her granddaughter and her family in 2007 because of her failing health. Mrs. Level was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years on July 27, 1992; her parents, Virgil and Katie Richardson; and her daughter, Janice Kay Gamble on June 24, 2002. Wynona is survived by her son and his spouse, James and Sharon Level; her son-in-law, Joe B. Gamble; five grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Dana Level, Katie (Gamble) and Shannon Jones, Kerrie and Joey Sala; Brant and Melissa Gamble and Jayme and Phillip Butler; nine great-grandchildren, Lauren, Luke and Lexi Level, Abby Jones, Zakary Sala, Macy and Mallory Butler and Virginia (Ginny) and Avery Gamble. Mrs. Level also left behind her genealogy research friends and countless others that called her “Meme” and loved her. In lieu of flowers, Wynona and her family would ask that you donate to one of the funds to help her two great-granddaughters (Abby Jones and Ginny Gamble) that have severe medical needs. You can give memorial donations to the “Abby Jones Medical Trust Fund” at any Bank of Oklahoma or to the Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders at GFPD 5147 S. Harvard Ave. Suite 181 Tulsa, OK 74135 or online at www.thegfpd.org/donate.
