Yalonda Mae Wetzel's Obituary
Yalonda Wetzel, lovingly known as “Mae Mae,” passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 67 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A resident of Broken Arrow, she was born on August 4, 1958, in Texas, to Charles Matthew Chuculate and Sarah Louise (McDonald) Chuculate.
For 42 years, she shared her life with Robert, her devoted partner. Music was one of her greatest joys — especially rock and roll — and she never missed a chance to turn up Mötley Crüe or talk about her favorite, Tommy Lee. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, and throughout her life she proudly held the title of the “cool aunt,” the one everyone could count on for fun, laughter, and love.
Mae enjoyed knitting, sipping margaritas, indulging in BBQ and sour candies, and surrounding herself with the color purple. She loved watching television and could always keep everyone updated on the latest drama. Her grandbabies were her heart, and she delighted in spoiling them every chance she got.
Above all, family meant everything to her. Her warmth, humor, and fierce love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Sarah Chuculate; father and mother in law Richard and Charlotte Wetzel; brother Buddy Chuculate; sister in law Kristi Wetzel; nephew Jason Davis; and niece Julie Parrish.
Left to cherish Mae’s memory is her husband Robert Wetzel; daughters Jessica Wetzel, Deanna Keller and her husband Jakob; grandchildren Brian Jones, Layton Wills, and Charlotte Keller; siblings Pauline, Wayne, Mary, and John; niece whom Mae was extremely close with Chrissy Vaughan; along with other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
