Yasmine Elise Rzayev-Oliver's Obituary
Yasmine Elise Rzayev-Oliver, born on February 28, 2002, in Durant, OK, passed in Tulsa, OK, at home on September 6, 2023. Her life was a true testament to resilience and a heart full of love. In her early years, Yasmine journeyed through the foster care system, a path that ultimately led her to the loving embrace of her adoptive parents, Tylisha Oliver-Thompson, and Myron Oliver. Through every twist and turn, she maintained her spirit of exploration and inquisitiveness throughout her life.
Yasmine attended Jenks High School, where she graduated in 2021. Initially pursuing a career in nutrition, she later discovered her true calling – social work. Her passion for helping others shone brightly through her desire to make a positive impact on the world. Professionally, Yasmine worked as an operator for a telemarketing company, demonstrating her dedication and determination in all aspects of life.
Yasmine's vibrant personality left a permanent mark on everyone she encountered. She was inquisitive, playful, and had an unmistakable childlike wonder that touched the hearts of those around her. A trend-setter with a fashion-forward sense, she effortlessly blended vintage charm with a modern edge. Yasmine's resilience throughout her youth inspired all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her presence on social media allowed her to connect with a wide audience, making her a true influencer and ambassador for foster youth. She also found solace and creativity in the art of crochet. Moreover, her love for feline friends was undeniable, as she cherished her two cats, Trinabog and Babayaga, who she co-parented with her roommate and who also brought her immense joy and companionship.
Yasmine is survived by her mother, Tylisha Oliver-Thompson, and her father, Myron Oliver. She is also remembered by her biological mother, Carrie Rezgui, and her biological father, Frank Rzayev, as well as her stepfather, Patrick Thompson. Yasmine leaves behind eight siblings: Tyren Oliver, Zehda Albert Oliver, Aaliyah Albert-Oliver, Enya Thompson, Jamaica Okech-Thompson, Aliyah Chandra, Zain Chandra, and Hiba Rezgui. Additionally, she will forever be cherished by a host of cousins, grandparents, extended relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.
Yasmine’s bright spirit will forever shine in our hearts. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us all and she will be missed deeply.
Yasmine’s Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in the Rose Center at Floral Haven Funeral Home, located at 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012. Once services conclude, a reception will be held from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Family Center, also at Floral Haven Funeral Home. The family warmly invites all who wish to attend the reception, where you are encouraged to continue sharing stories and paying tribute to Yasmine.
