Zagnona Sue Cox's Obituary
Zagnona Sue Cox, 87 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Monday, June 1, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born November 7, 1932 in Leroy, Texas to her parents, Milton Richardson and Susie Lenora Thrasher Richardson. She married the love of her life, Joseph L. Cox and they shared in many wonderful years together before his passing in 2012.
Zagnona was the salutatorian of her high school class and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Mathematics and Masters in Education at Baylor University. She then married the love of her life and football playing high school classmate, Joseph Cox. They succeeded in raising 3 children as they trekked across the globe for Joe’s work. They lived in California, Canada and Australia before settling in Tulsa. Zagnona was a dedicated member of Asbury United Methodist Church as well as an active volunteer in local breast cancer survivor groups. She will be remembering for her spirit, faith, loyalty and adventurous nature.
Zagnona is survived by her three children, Clifford Cox and wife Robin, Craig Cox and wife Diana and Caryn Brown and husband Scott; six grandchildren, Jordan Roy and husband David, Mitch Cox and wife Erin, Aidan Cox, Alexandra Cox, Gus Brown and Oscar Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Cloe Cox and Henry Roy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Cox and her parents, Milton and Susie Richardson.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Garden of Reflection.
