Amer Lee McCullough's Obituary
Amer Lee McCullough, 84, formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on November 7, 2022. He was born November 10, 1937 in Collinsville, Oklahoma to Leo and Thelma McCullough. As a child Amer was a member of the 4H Club, Boy Scout Troup 95 and the DeMolay. He played football for 4 years in high school and lettered for 6 years including junior high. He graduated from Collinsville High School, Class of 1956. He also attended Tulsa Technical College to study structural drafting where he finished the program in half the allotted time.
He married Shirley Reimer on April 19, 1957. They lived in the Owasso and Tulsa areas where they were active in the Baptist church and started a family. In 1972, they moved to Overland Park, Kansas and later moved to the greater Houston area before returning to Tulsa in 1994. He became a successful businessman as President of Lynn Elliott Company. He enjoyed engineering and drafting in the electrical field.
Amer loved attending OU football games with Shirley. They also enjoyed traveling. They went on several trips to Branson, Missouri and took trips to the East and West Coast. During the visits with family, he was always willing and able to help with every project.
Around 2019, Amer moved to the OKC area to be closer to his daughter and her family. Even during COVID, there were many games nights to play Pinochle or Train. Amer always had a smile and a joke to tell. He led a full and happy life enjoying his family but was ready to be with the Lord and be reunited with his wife in heaven. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Amer was preceded in passing by his wife, Shirley McCullough; his parents, Leo McCullough and Thelma McCullough; his grandmother, Ruth Jackson.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Quigg and her husband, Larry Quigg (Norman, OK); his grandchildren, Corban Quigg and his wife, Kara Quigg (Seattle, WA), Mitchell Quigg and his wife, Carlee Quigg, (Ligonier, PA), and Kelsey Skaggs and her husband, Austin Skaggs (Mustang, OK); his great-grandchildren, Calum Quigg, Colin Quigg, Matthew Quigg, Aubrey Quigg; his siblings, Leah Williams and her husband, Raymond Williams (Collinsville, OK), John McCullough and his wife, Debbie McCullough (Tulsa, OK), Joyce Santa Maria, Jim McCullough and his wife, Debbie McCullough and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Friday, November 11, 2022 at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Visitation will be 9 am, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
