TO MY HUSBAND – on our Anniversary – "I wish I knew some special words I've neve used before, To tell you, as the years go by, I love you more and more. You're all the happiness I need To crown each shining day, There's nothing I would rather hear Than tender words you say. Yours is the strength I lean upon…I bear your name with pride; Life's richest blessing I have found In walking by your side." (Selected)

GodÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s Bible School and CollegeDear Lottie and family: The entire GodÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s Bible School and College family was saddened to learn of the passing of your dear Husband, Father and Grandfather. We know and understand the profound sorrow that you feel and extend to you our deepest sympathy. Dr. Tryon was a distinguished and valued colleague and honorary alumnus of GodÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s Bible School and College. His work here at GBS will never be forgotten. Lottie, you and Charles were the driving force that birthed our Distance Education Program. Students will be trained in the Wesleyan Holiness tradition worldwide because of the foundations you both helped to put in place. GBS will be forever indebted to you and your husband. As a Christian Pastor, Missionary and Educator, Dr. Tryon was one of the best. His preaching was biblical, his missionary philosophy was cutting edge, and his passion to train Christian workers was unsurpassed by any man I have ever met. The influence of his work is presently felt on several continents and in many countries of the world Ã?¢ââ??‰â?¬Å? an influence that will have eternal consequences. This fall, as a memorial to our dear brother, GodÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s Bible School and College will award to a mission major the Charles Armen Tryon scholarship. All around the world today, national pastors, missionaries and friends fly a flag at half-mast in their hearts, sharing the sorrow that all of you feel here today. But for Charles, his night is now passed, and with it, all of earthÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s sorrows. He now lives in the light of GodÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s eternal day. I praise God for Charles Tryon and someday will praise God with him! With deepest sympathy, Mike Avery, The GodÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s Bible School and College Family
Dear Sister Tryon,Please let me express Carol's and my deepest sympathy in the death of your dear husband Charles. It was such a privilege for us to get to know both of you while you were here at GBS. Your example of unselfish and utterly devoted Christian service both challenges and inspires us, as it has so many others. Your patience, your affirmation, and your constant support made your mutual ministry such a blessing to so many many people. In these last years when Charles' health was so poor your nursing and care were a gift of love not only to him but to our dear Saviour. May He comfort you, support you, and bless you at this time of grieving your husband's loss; and may you take comfort in the years of memories of your mutual service with Him–a service that will continue in your own life and that will bring rich eternal rewards in His "Nearer Presence."With deep sympathy and respect,Larry D. Smith
Remembering Rev. Charles Tryon, Sr.The ministry of Reverend Charles & Lottie Tryon in the Philippines for many years is worth emulating by believers and the unbelievers as well. Many lives were touched and transformed spiritually through their ministry. When we were young people, we saw the TryonÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s dedication and commitment in training and mentoring us in different technical/vocational skills. This became a vehicle for us to hear the gospel through the integrated Bible subjects in the Bible School in Moncada. Many young people enrolled in typing class and other business subjects and other vocational courses such as tailoring and mechanic. We saw their sacrifices, together with Sister Gloria and Sister Daphne, driving from Mabacalat to Moncada in the evening for almost two hours just to come and teach us despite their tiredness from their day work at Clark Air Base. Through their ministry in the Bible School, together with the late Reverend Urbano Geron, children, adults and especially young people accepted the Lord Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and the majority of the present Bible Fellowship pastors came from Moncada.Through Rev. TryonÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s leadership, World Vision was brought to the Philippines to minister to our less fortunate children in Moncada, Paniqui, Binalonan, Dau and Sapang Palay churches. These sponsored children together with their families came to know Jesus as their Savior. Most of the sponsored children were able to pursue their studies all the way through college including my wife and myself. These World Vision college graduates are now serving in their churches and are witnesses of the Lord in their workplaces. The Tryon family made great heavenly investments in the Philippine mission work in the areas of construction of church buildings, purchasing of the church properties and others. Sir and Mam Tryon encouraged us to continue serving the Lord and to go on in spite of the hardships and challenges in the ministry. He taught us to work diligently, trusting the Lord for GodÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s providence and grace. We are inspired by their examples of working hard to extend their help to the different needs of the Philippine work.As the work began to expand, God used Rev. and Mrs. Tryon to start the Bible School in Binalonan and churches were opened in different places of the Philippine work. To God be the glory in using Rev. and Mrs. Tryon. To Sir and Mam & family, thank you so much! Your labor of love for the Filipino brethren is not in vain. The legacy you leave will be cherished and will continue to be passed on to the next generation and beyond.Sir, in behalf of the National Board, Pastors, PastorÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s wives and the all the Filipinos you have touched, thank you so very much!Mam Tryon & children, please accept our deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences. We love you and we are praying for you.Rev. Gregorio Caibigan, National Coordinator Philippine Association of Bible Fellowship Centers
DAD TRYON My family and I met YOU, Mom, and your boys when I was only 12 years old, 46 years ago in the Philippines. You and your family patiently and faithfully taught us music, typing, how to drive, and more. But, best of all YOU and Mom taught us in the mission how to live for Jesus. We have seen YOU and your family live your lives loving people and giving to people until there was no more to give. IÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢ve seen YOU take your own white handkerchief to wipe the dirty nose of a Filipino boy and YOU took five (5) old grandmas to Clark Air Force Base to give them an experience of eating ice cream. YOU took the public bus to my home to let me know of a job that I could interview for. These are examples of things YOU have done that are imprinted in my mind. Simply said, YOU sacrifice to help others. YOU not only gave the gospel, but live it before our eyes to understand the gospel. YOU gave yourself to others just like Jesus did. DAD, thank YOU for showing us how to live for Jesus. The best THANK YOU and greatest honor I could give YOU and Mom is to carry on the work in the Asia-Orient Missions. IÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢m in Guam right now doing just that. I know you will be pleased with what God is doing in the work that YOU and Mom have started, love, supported, and sacrifice for. WE ALL LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND WILL MISS YOU TERRIBLY! Your Filipino daughter, Gloria

Your labor and sacrifices together with your family has not gone naught. God has blessed your ministry and the LordÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s work is growing and will continue to grow.
