Arlene did volunteer work at Oxley Nature Center, working at the front desk as a visitor center host. That is how I got to know her wry sense of humor and sharp intellect. Arlene also attended one of the CPR classes I taught at the nature center, telling a hair-raising story of surviving a heart attack herself. She was an excellent host, welcoming people to the center, providing information, and joining in the excitement of their adventures on the trails. I never knew about her fancy hat hobby, but it would have been another item we held in common. My husband's mom passed away, Her body is made whole now and she is no longer in pain. She is at peace. She is in Heaven now. But now our heart's ache, Our eye's fill with tears, Because we miss her.
