Arlene Seebech's Obituary
Arlene Marion Seebech passed away Thursday August 3, 2017 at the age of 77. She was born in 1939 to Lawrence and Ethel Dorland in Manatee, Florida. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Tampa, Florida.She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance in Tampa, Florida and transferred to Tulsa when they opened their Tulsa location in 1973. She worked in the real estate industry for many years as a salesperson and manager. Some of the companies she worked for included Professional Home Finders, Good Neighbor Real Estate, Century 21 Procorps, John Hausam and McGraw Davisson Stewart Realtors.She later worked as a title agent and manager for Century Title in Tulsa from 1992 to 2000. While managing at Century Title, she was affectionately known as “Sarge.” This was due to her always insisting that things be done her way. She was a loan shipping clerk for First Mortgage Company from 2003 until her retirement in 2011.Arlene enjoyed nature and liked to camp, canoe, and had plans to someday canoe on the St. Lawrence Seaway. She also loved shopping for fancy hats, traveling, discovering new places, and dreaming of her next adventure. Her friends and family will remember her as a strong, fearless and independent woman.She was survived by her son Charles McGavern, daughter-in-law Gayle McGavern, companion and friend Alan Davilla, three granddaughters and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her former husband Charles Patrick McGavern, her parents Lawrence and Ethel Dorland, and her brother David Dorland.A memorial service will be held in her honor at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
