I met Barbara through my friend Linda back in 1978. All three of us had a lot of fun together. We were together the day Natalie was born. We had eaten Mexican food at Monterey House when she went into labor. Right after Christmas! Later in years, we all had families and stayed friends.
Fast forward a few years, and Barbara started going to church at Nogales Avenue Baptist Church with me. My mother went there too, and she got to know Barbara a lot better, too. Barbara was a good and faithful member until she wasn’t able to get out so much anymore.
Barbara was a fierce conservative. She was that way about her thoughts. She did not back down. I always thought she would have made a good politician because she was firm in her beliefs, and they always aligned with her faith.
I started losing her a few years ago. She didn’t want anyone to see her in such pain and be bothered with her needs. That’s called BRAVERY. I can’t believe she’s gone now. I will miss her every day until the day I die. She’s off in her perfect heavenly body now, spreading joy.
