Barbara I. Whiteley's Obituary
Barbara I. Whiteley, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed from this world into the Loving Arms of her Lord Jesus Christ on July 10, 2014 at the age of 83. She was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on January 29, 1931, the daughter of Otis and Illa Arilla (Lambert) Carlisle. She worked for Loffland Brothers Oil Company for 16 years, then followed her passion for sports as an athletic administrative assistant at the University of Tulsa for 13 years, and then at Oral Roberts University for 12 years. Her loving and encouraging spirit will be greatly missed. Barbara is survived by her three children, Lou Whiteley of Ft. Worth, Texas, Lee Whiteley of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Lynette Dittus of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Bryant Dittus, Daniel Dittus, Julia Dittus, Rocky Whiteley, Jessi Voss and her husband Christian, and Lacey Whiteley; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rilla Barton, and son-in-law Mitch Dittus. Memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s name to Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), 8701 Leeds Road, Kansas City, MO 64129.
