Lit a candle in memory of Bob Warner Reavis
My Dad the only man I have ever had a lifetime love affair. My lifetime confident, secret keeper, my mentor and hero. He instilled in me self esteem, he taught me by example to leave them breathless. Dad was authentic to the core. Everything he touched turned to Gold. An Oklahoma farm boy who rose to greatness. A financial genius, who loved architecture and design. He love art. He left his mark wherever he went with his larger than life personality, sense of humor and true passion for business, numbers and the art of the deal. His office was always filled with powerbrokers seeking his advice. He treated everyone the same. He lived a life of passion, fun and business. Dad loved Europe he and would visit and then return and he would implement an inspiration from Michael Angelo, to the Sistine Chapel. Dad provided an amazing life for our family, he educated all of us, educated his grandchildren. He purchased all of us homes. He provided us cars and trips, He employed all of us at one time or another. He taught us the value of education, work as well as giving back to the community. He shared his wealth and was gracious to his family and filled with gratitude with how he had been blessed. Dad was a lifelong Democrat, coming from humble means he believed there was room at the table of humanity for everyone. If one of us wins we all win. A few weeks ago I was home and he described his life as achieving all of his dreams and arriving at the summit of his life and being so incredibly grateful. He never let us forget how much he loved us. I will miss him everyday of my life but know he is probably up in heaven drawing architectural plans or looking at piece of art for inspiration to create something. I know for sure he has already met half of heaven as he never met a stranger. He had the looks, the charisma and gift of making strangers feel important. Dad will live on in all of us especially, myself, my brothers and his grandchildren. Heaven gained an angel with little devil horns to keep it interesting. Thank you Daddy for everything, You gave us the wings to fly, through your hard work, love and sacrifice. I will carry you in my heart, and miss and love you forever, my sweetheart, until we meet again. Love forever, Your Daughter
Every time I visited Mr. Reavis he would talk about how he started out in the painting business and the little shop. Barbara would ask him how many times are you going to tell that story, He said until she stops liking to hear it…lol He was a great man and so much fun to talk too
One day Bob and Barbara were in the office and Bob was sporting a dapper touring cap. I complimented him on his hat, which was cocked at a jaunty angle, to which he replied "I found it in the dumpster!" I thought if the floor could open up, Barbara would gladly have taken that escape route! We will miss him. – Dana Brooks
