Prayers for the McCarty family as you lay to rest one of my best friends of only 3 years but felt like much longer. I will miss our long talks about life, love, and our children. Carolyn was known by everyone on our street as the “Cookie Lady.” We loved her as if she was our own family. Her smile and laugh could brighten any room. She loved her family so much and spoke to me about them every time I visited with her. We cried together and laughed until we cried. We had a lot of fun just sitting around visiting. My family adored her. We had told her on occasion that she reminded us of my grandma. As time passed my whole family met her, and she we would go get her and walk across the street to my house for birthday parties. She loved to sit on the porch and watch my kids play outside. It was a blessing to get to know such a kind and sweet person.
