Carroll Brooks was a classy man with a huge servants heart. I know he will be missed by his family, friends and the energy industry. I first met Carroll 20+ years ago. I was always impressed by his memory, integrity and infectious smile. Prayers for the family continue.
I never had the privilege to meet Mr. Brooks in person, but enjoyed our business conversations. He was always in such a good mood and would carry on a conversation as if you were the best of friends. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends.
Carroll was a man that was not rattled easily. He had a calm nature about him . I started for Carroll 30 years ago next month. He taught me more about propane, butanes, & business than I would ever have learned from anyone else. He was my mentor as well as one to many other people. His greeting to me was “ Hey Gal”, hows’s everything in Mangum. Can you hold a load of propane, what’s everyone doing? Always asked about my son Ty Rope. He was so proud when Ty decided to go to OSU. I knew Carroll Wayne at Humphreys as Lynn’s and Bill’s little brother, as well as Homer and Naomi’s baby. With great sympathy, we know he will be sorely missed; however, you will have many pleasant memories on which to rely.
I did not know Mr. Brooks but if Sejin is anything like his dad, I know that he was a great man. I am so sorry for his great loss to all his family and friends. I pray peace and comfort for everyone who know and loved him.
Daddy lived life like no other person I know. He led by example and he was always there is lend a hand or an ear to anyone at anytime. He was loving, kind, honest and always showed me what a man should be like and by example how a man should treat a woman. He loved his family, like no one else in the world. Not only was he there for us always, no matter what. He also loved to travel extensively with us. He was the best daddy you could ask for. I was not the perfect child, but he was patient and used everything as a “learning experience” when I got into trouble. He was a wonderful poppy to 5 grandkids whom he loved to visit and be with. He was also married to to my mom for over 34 years, and loved her like no other. Daddy I miss you like crazy and will love you always with all my heart.
I was employed in the NGL energy marketing business in for 38 years, beginning in 1980. As I recall, in the early 1980’s I met Carroll at an industry reception in Tulsa. From that first meeting, I knew Carroll had a kind heart and was a man that could be trusted. I always enjoyed running in to him at various NGL industry functions from that day forward. He always had a smile on his face, and a kind word to offer. I truly enjoyed visiting with him every time I had the opportunity. I’ll miss those conversations for a period of time, but they aren’t over forever. We’ll strike them up again when we meet in the sweet by and by. In the meantime Carroll please give Jesus a hug for me….see you again soon brother!
Carroll will be Greatly missed by us who worked with him at Farmers Oil!
We are all shocked and saddened by this tremendous loss. Carroll was smart, funny and always the consummate gentleman. It was truly an honor to have worked with him for so many years and we will miss him dearly.
I sold Carroll his first load of propane when he bought Mangum Oil & Gas and formed Ican Energy 40 yrs ago. Little did I know I would be working for him 20 years later. Carroll was a joy to work for and the last 20 yrs. He was a man of God and gave his time to his church and as a board member of FCA Fellowship of Christian Athletes in NE Oklahoma. He gave back to the sports community by being a White Hat head referee in football and basketball for over 40 years. I will miss my close friend but know I will be seeing him again sooner than we think. Love you man. Lee
