Carroll Brooks' Obituary
Carroll Wayne Brooks was born in Humphreys, OK on June 26, 1947 and passed away at his home in Coweta, OK on July 15, 2019. Carroll is survived by his wife Lee; his three children and spouses John and Jodi Reaves of Carlsbad, CA, Shahna and Michael Baugus of Sapulpa, OK, and Sejin and Shannon Brooks of Austin, TX; his five grandchildren Alyson Baugus, Harrison Brooks, and Malia, Madera and Malana Reaves; his brother Bill Brooks and wife Myrna; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his father Homer, mother Naomi, and brother Lynn.Carroll graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He then worked with Union 76 and Cities Service until he started ICAN Energy in 1980.He was a Christian and loved the lord. He served at First Baptist Church Coweta as a Sunday school teacher and as the Finance Committee Chairman.Carroll loved to fly, bird hunt, fish and golf. He also loved to travel with family and friends. He was active in youth sports. He officiated high school basketball and football for thirty plus years. He and his crew had the honor of refereeing class 6A football playoffs between Jenks and Union as well as other classes’ playoffs. He also served as President of the Greater Tulsa Officials Association and inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014. Furthermore, he was an active and ardent supporter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in furtherance of student athletes’ spiritual and athletic success.Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19 from 5 pm – 8 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Services will at 12:30 pm on Saturday July 20 at the Floral Haven Chapel.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes P.O.
