Charles "Charlie" Whitesell's Obituary
Charles “Charlie” Whitesell, age 74, passed peacefully at his home in Edmond, Oklahoma on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Charlie was born on December 13, 1951 in Pasco, Washington, and soon after moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. After graduating high school, he joined the Army and served in the Vietnam war, where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
After his service, he worked as a union ironworker in steel erection for the remainder of his career until his retirement in 2016.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Whitesell and Helen Whitesell, his brother, Robert Whitesell, and his son, Matthew Whitesell.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Whitesell, his children, Kevin Hess(Reylene), Matthew Hess, Ashley Smith(Thomas), his sister Pamela Williams, his grandchildren Ashley Cable, Michelle Hess, Skyler Burnett, Aryah Smith, Logan Burnett, Kaylynn Hess, Ashton Burnett, Kofi Smith, Myra Cale, Mateo Smith, Dalton Burnett, Bentley Burnett and Zoe Smith.
Celebration of life will be held Friday, April 17th, 2026 at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Reception to follow services will be held at the Floral Haven Family Center from 1:30 - 3:30 PM
