Clarence Ervin Walters, 96, died March 27, 2017, In Norman, OK.Clarence was born January 31, 1921, in Inola, OK to Alex and Myrtle Walters. His Father was a Farmer in Inola. His mother came to lnola with her parents in a covered wagon.Clarence was a long time resident of the Norman Veterans Center in Norman, OK Clarence was the 2nd oldest of ten siblings. Clarence was a World War 2 veteran. He entered the Big War in 1942. He served in the Army Air Corp. attaining the rank of Sgt at the time of his discharge.Clarence was an employee of Meadow Gold Milk Company. He was an old time house to house milk deliveryman. He ended his Meadow Gold career as a route supervisor.Clarence was a 50 year member of The Masons. Will Rogers Lodge No. 53 A.F. & A.M.Clarence loved God and was a long time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Claremore. He enjoyed fishing, OU Football, and OKC Thunder Basketball.Clarence’s favorite charity was St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.Clarence was always quick to smile. His smile will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.Clarence was predeceased by both parents and wife, Francis Louise Walters, October 6, 1999; 4 brothers, Sam Walters, Lester Walters, JB Walters, and Bernard Walters; 3 sisters, Vivian Hogue, Helen Carpenter, and Hilda Dunn.He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Lewis of Asotin, Washington, his brother and sister in law Bob and Dorothy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and a host of nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, a special few great grandnieces and great grand nephews. Clarence did not have any children of his own but he loved his wife’s children; Bob and Becky Dennis, Bill and Sylvia Dennis, and Jacque and Clem Caster, and their children.A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1310 N. Sioux Ave., Claremore, OK. April 21, 2017 at 2 pm. followed by a luncheon at the church. Instead of flowers please make a donation to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, or a charity of your choice.
