Dewayne was a friend, we had some great times in High School and were at Fort Polk together. He had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. I know that he will be greatly missed. But now he is not suffering. May God rest his soul.Bruce Custer
Sitting here at the computer, printed off the obituary and thinking of you and remembering Dewayne. Wendi Nielsen Jessie, I remember you telling me Dewayne and your Mom used to enjoy having a Bloody Mary to celebrate their birthdays at the Louisiane Restaurant. I bet they are doing it now! I think of his nice smile. Rest in Peace! Annie Wolters
As a fellow McLain graduate, I reconnected with Dewayne on Facebook because our mutual friend, Marsha Park Chisum, told me "I've been working with Dewayne Brewer on the reunion, and he is the best guy. You need to be FB friends with him. And it has been great reading his views, and sharing our thoughts these past several years. We thought the same politically and were both crazy about our grandchildren. That's a lot to 'talk' about! I always admired his insights, his patience with dissent, and most of all his great kindness and humanity. He will be missed by so many people and, of course, especially his family who had the best of him for the longest time. Martha Pence Perry
Dewayne and Jessie have been great friends. I am so sad that Dewayne has passed on to his Heavenly Home, because he will be missed by many here. He has fought the toughest fight and because he did, we have been able to have him here a little longer. I am glad his pain and suffering have ended. Rest in God's loving care, Dewayne. We will be together again one day. Thank you for being a great friend and neighbor!Debra Tomlinson
