Dale Warren Greiner, 75, died Tuesday January 10, 2017 at Clarehouse in Tulsa,OK following a 10 year journey with Alzheimer’s disease. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Barbara (Baker) Greiner; his daughter, Allison (Greiner) and he Read Obituary
Dale was a teammate in high school, tenacious competitor in college, lifelong best friend and best man in our wedding. I will always cherish the memories of our many lengthy discussions and the times we were able to be together after our college years. Barb and family, you are in our prayers….he will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him. Gary Kincaid
I did not meet the Greiners till Dale already had alzheimers; but I enjoyed visiting with Dale when I went to mow for Barb…sometimes he would work in the yard with us; sometimes his efforts to help involved pulling flowers instead of weeds…I always teased Barb about this…but he was a very pleasant, sweet man, and she often told me of their younger years…he had a rich, wonderful life, and I am certain he blessed all who met him… He will be missed.
I knew Dale from our Ann Arbor tennis group. He was a great athlete and fun to play with. I enjoyed hearing of his experiences in Alaska, and I know that he made a lasting impression on his many students. He will be missed.All the best to the Greiner family, Carl Bach, Chelsea, Michigan
I cannot remember when I did not know Dale. I always loved to talk with him and cannot imagine a more caring person–always witty, always kind, always thoughtful. Dale had so many talents and interests. He and you, Barb, were a terrific team throughout these 53 years, through good times and sad. I've known him since you and I were freshman roommates and you two started dating. Dale has always had so many interesting things to discuss, and I loved hearing about the educational trips you two took. Dale was a good, solid, decent man, and I am privileged to have known him. My heart goes out to the family.
Among the friendships of a lifetime, precious few have equalled the admiration, respect, and lasting memories generated by and for Dale. He is the kind of friend some of us may have seen and visited with only a dozen times since college, but our scattered Homecoming conversations were so focused we could pick up where the last one paused. Our shared experiences at Emporia State University, as biology majors, in track and field, and student leadership through Blue Key, were just practice for Dale's lifetime of devotion and dedication to family, teaching, life-long learning, and service to others. – Scott Irwin –
