dearest Danny? Daniel I was looking at facebook and all the tributes to you there. I left a very very long – too long i guess- i didn't know how to use fb- story there after you passed into heaven when we returned from Tulsa looking at your wonderful insight- so full of Jesus's love_ – offered prayers full of my heart- meditations on your loving face smiling eyes and when i finished it was gone- Poof where did it go- why was it not on your page? i just hit enter to paste ? out in cyber space lost- I still offer it all up to you in humble gratitude for sharing your life with us your Uncle and Aunty on your Dads side. Wish soo much my hubby Ed and his bro your Dad; Pete lived sooo much closer thru the years- we missed out on so much still do as NM is far and away from Virginny. all your family loves you Danny- they miss you soo very deeply. I am Daniel's Aunt Diann. Sister to his mother Linda Sims. Looking at Daniel now, takes my breath away. But the first time I laid eyes on him, was when his Mom took him, his brother Darren and sister Lisa to Florida to visit family. I went as well to take the opportunity to see the new babies. Danny and Darren were infants. Not even a month old. My sister thought this would be a great time to take Lisa to Disney, leaving the boys with me. They went for THREE days!!! Yes, it was quite something. Feeding, changing, rocking, and non stop cuddling. They were so precious. At the time it was almost over whelming. I took the the mattress off the sofa bed and the three of us stayed there for three days. They smiled, made sweet little baby sounds, stretched and peacefully slept. I held one or the other the whole time. I now look back at that time and cherish those three days. Just us! I sob when I think of Danny because he could have lived so long and enjoyed life. I know with everything that I am, that he is in the arms of Jesus and we will see him again, but right now I wish he was still with us.

I'm Danny's sister. I just remember how nanny boy was a stickler for rules and order since he was kid. He got the chicken pox as a child and he and I rode with our mom to the grocery store. Mom told us to stay in the van and she told Danny not to scratch at his pox or he could have scars . 15 minutes go by and Danny starts to itch. So he starts whimpering quietly ," mommy it itches!" I tell him that moms not here and he can just rub it if it itches. He started yelling at me, " NO MOMMY SAID NOT TO!" And with that he continued to scream at the top of his lungs," MOMMY IT ITCHES!" Lol my mother soon returned to the vehicle and rubbed his itchy spot.

Dan was one of my 'boys' when I was a teacher and the athletic trainer for the Calhoun High football team. He had an infectious personality and smile that could brighten anyone's day. Over the years I have had hundreds of students come across my path. Dan is one of the few that I will always remember, because he stood out from the rest. I truly feel that my life is better for having known him. My prayers are with you in this loss.

i remember when we was in school together and he was a great friend and a gentlemen to the ladies and he was always such a great friend to everyone and no one had to go unfriended and he is such a great person and i honestly couldnt ask for anyone better than he was and so sweat and caring and kind and honest and trustworthy sorry
