On Christmas Eve 2009 Tulsa experienced a snowstorm that was classified as a blizzard. We were expecting a large crow and David and Melissa (my sister) were one of the first guests to arrive. By the time we were scheduled to start the festivities the storm was in full force. Several family members, which included my toddler grandchildren, called saying they were stuck on the highways and surrounding neighborhoods. With out stopping to think about the consequences David loaded up in his big truck and went out to rescue the family. He actually made several trips until everyone was inside and safe. His rescue instinct and big heart made him a successful fire fighter and a protector of my sister for more than 30 years. He and Melissa will be greatly missed. It's a comfort to know they are reunited again, and they can both rest in peace. Hopefully together on a big fishing boat doing what they loved.
