David Lee Sanders' Obituary
David Lee Sanders was born March 26, 1961 in Joliet, Illinois and passed away April 7, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.David loved Nascar, fishing, boating and movies and working. His life revolved around his work, he was the trany man. Not just any trany man, he was known to trouble shoot transmission problems quite well. He was very intelligent, he was the kind of guy that could absorb information and keep it like a reference book in his mind. He amazed us how he could remember things about his work or learned at his seminars. He was so loyal to his job, you could count on him to be there everyday. He did however have a lot of trouble remembering to let the dog out.David did things his way, he was a nut sometimes teasing about not taking the trash out for fear of being seen by the neighbors doing something so beneath him. He would grab the trash and tip toe to the door, peak his head out to see if anyone was looking then tip toe to the trash can. He would keep us in stitches. He could be hysterically funny. He could always get us out of a bad mood by just making us laugh.Dave was my giant teddy bear, loved by his whole family near and far. He spoke of his mom often and you knew she was a driving force in his life. His friends cared a lot for Dave, even his stuck on himself side which he wasn’t afraid to show.David wasn’t camera shy, no matter where he was, pausing for a picture was okay with him, in fact he would say ” take a picture”.Dave was well known for his nickname ” FOOT” back in the day. His height caught your attention immediately as he was 6ft 10in tall. Not only called Foot for his height, his shoe size also did, having an 18 triple eee shoe. We would rent our residence by the height of the ceiling more than anything else.Dave’s children love him a lot even though he would give them a hard time about different adventures in their lives. Dave was DAD to them for 30 yrs. The kids where proud to introduce him as their Dad. The biggest dad in the neighborhood. Not seeing this big guy whom we love so much in our lives will be a struggle for a long time.He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Sanders; children Nick, Gina, Anna, and David Jr.; grandchildren Dayton, Kaynn, Ethan, Arilynn, Chloe, Ryder, and Shaylynn; great grandchildren Harmony and Melony; brothers Donald and Doug; sister Carolynn; nieces Carrie and Laurie; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
