David Earl Secrist was born in Prairie Grove, AR, in 1938 to Orval and Mabel Secrist. The family moved to Tulsa where Earl graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1957. It was there that he met the love of his life, Dolores. The Read Obituary
Shared many a Sunday morning on Sunday school class, many a breakfast together including 9-1-1 as it was happening. A special day as I led Earl and Delores in renewing their wedding vows.Maybe we can have another breakfast together on my first day in heaven.
It was an honor to work for Chief Secrist, as well as an honor to know him in my civilian life. Working as a lifeguard, in the early 70's in east Tulsa, he lived in the neighborhood and his kids came to the pool, as he did too. He played football for my father, who coached at Rogers High School, and my father was always so very proud of his accomplishments in the police department. I had the honor of assisting in the training of Mark, during his FTO training, and the professionalism of the Secrist family in the TPD continues to shine today. My deepest condolences to Mark, and the entire family, in this time of loss. My prayers are with you all…………….

DAVID? How on earth have I known this precious man for 30 years and NEVER knew his name was DAVID til now? LOL. What a warrior but such a gentle spirit of a man. I will cherish & honor the friendship we've had for 30 years although I will miss him appearing out of nowhere at my office door for a little visit. I can still hear his voice and his laugh. I will hold all the conversations we had dear to my heart. I KNOW he was ready and I will see him again. I know you are having a great time already my dear friend!
