Mae Rogers' Obituary
Delphia “Mae” Mefford Rogers was born on August 30, 1932 in Muskogee, OK to Ray Mefford and Delphia Mae (Scism) Mefford and passed away on September 6, 2025 in Jenks, OK after reaching the age of 93 years. Mae was raised in Muskogee, Coweta, and Tulsa and attended schools in those counties.
She graduated in 1950 from Berryhill High School and graduated from Northeastern State University with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She taught from 1957-1988. She loved teaching kindergarten and 1st grade. She was dedicated to supporting her husband who was a pastor and also an educator. Mae married her high school sweetheart Berniel Rogers on October 5, 1951, they were married for 73 years. Mae and Berniel raised two children Berneil “Wayne” and Marsha Lynn. She was extremely proud of all their accomplishments. Grandma and Maw-maw loved her grandchildren and was proud to see them graduate from high school and college. Mae enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting and embroidering, but most of all Mae loved her family, her church families and the Lord.
Mae is preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers Howard Ray, Carl Dale Mefford, one sister Karen Marie Thompson, two nephews Mike Mefford, Brian Mefford, one great niece Holly Henry.
She is survived by her husband Berniel Rogers of the home, her children Wayne Rogers and wife Cheryl of Neveda, MO, daughter Marsha Harper and husband Pat of Jenks, OK, brother Calvin Mefford and wife Darlene of Jenks, OK. 10 grandchildren Jacob Thornton and wife Whitney, Sierra Dawn Rogers, Zack Thornton and wife Taylor, Rowdy Harper and wife Katie, Brandi Honey and husband Mike, Brandon Shipley and wife Marlana, 7 great-grandchildren Asher Thornton, Lane Thornton, Jax Harper, Rylee Harper, Madison Shipley, Mackenzie Shipley, Baily Shipley, Connor Thornton, Kennedy Thornton, special cousin Tabby and Leroy Pike of Jenks, OK, along with other relatives, friends, loved ones and special friends Euna Carter, Glenda Farmer, Sharon Pauly, Tom Pauly, and Antionette Wade.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 11th, 2025 from 4-7 PM
Funeral service will be held Friday, September 12th at 10:00 AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
A reception will follow the service at the Floral Haven Family Center from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. (The building is located just north of the funeral home)
