Dennis Carey's Obituary
Dennis Carey, also known as, “Mr. Wonderful”, 74 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in a Tulsa hospital with family by his side. He was born February 1, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to his parents, George William Carey and Madlyn Gertrude Lyons Carey. Dennis married the love of his life, Pat Pounds Carey. They met as young teens. Dennis said he loved her from the day they met; it took Pat a little longer to recognize his wonderfulness. They were married September 3, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri and they never stopped loving each other.Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Pat Carey of the home; two sons, Josh Carey and his wife Jerilyn of Edmond, Oklahoma and Jake Carey and his wife Robyn of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two brothers, Rev. Owen Carey and his wife Esther of Manchester, New Hampshire and Eddie Carey and his wife Dottie of Franklin, New Hampshire; four grandchildren, who were the light of his life, David Carey, Hayley Carey, Emily Carey and Miranda Carey; and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Carey and Madlyn Adams.When you became Dennis’s friend it was for life. He called and kept in touch with people he knew from childhood on. No one loved more deeply and thoroughly than Dennis. Because of that love his greatest desire was that all he met would come to know Jesus as his/her Savior. As his granddaughter, Hayley, said Sunday, “Those of us who are Believers will see him again.”Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Parkview Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to John 3:16 in Dennis’ honor.
