Don and Lois were like a second set of parents to me from third grade on. Donnie and I were as close to Inseparable as two boys can be for most of our childhood. I was on the Soccer teams and went hunting with Don and Donnie. I remember his laughter and his smile; I remember the airplane hanging in the garage and going on more weekend fishing trips than I can recall. When we had a housefire my Junior year of High School Don and Lois took me in while my parents arranged for a house to rent while ours was rebuilt, just like it was the most natural thing in the world. Their family and house was a friendly and warm place for all of my childhood. God be with you both in this difficult time.
