Donald Ray Wyatt's Obituary
Donald Ray Wyatt, 73, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2015, at Hillcrest Hospital surrounded by his family. Don was born March 28, 1942, in Quinton, OK. He was married to Barbara Rothrock and had four children. He loved his wife and devoted his life to making her happy. He took joy in coming home from work, hanging up his tie, and working around their property. Together, they build the house of their dreams and made memories by traveling with their kids. His wife Barbara said of her late husband that “he broke the mold.” Don left behind his wife, four children, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his brother. His wife Barbara resides in Tulsa. His daughter Christine and her son live in Tulsa. His daughter Sallie is married to Dan Ruskoski. They have three children and one grandchild. His son Don is married to Tara and they have two children. His son Ron is married to Jennifer. They are expecting a son in April. His daughter Sallie remembers her dad with one hand holding a Pepsi and the other hand hold Nilla wafers. He taught her to fish for catfish at White Horn Cove off of Ft. Gibson Lake. As a former employee of American Airlines, he was skilled in the identification of aircraft and taught Sallie the differences in the models that American flew. His son Don remembers his father as a loving husband to his mom. Don’s greatest memories are that his dad always made time for him, always helped him when he was asked, and always supported him in his decisions and ambitions. His brother Basil remembers fondly the bond shared by brothers. He recalls memories of playing on a tire swing, getting their pant legs wet, and trying to hide that fact from their mom by putting the jeans in the wash “to help” their mom get ahead on laundry; she never fell for it. Many of his memories involved riding their bikes into town where his brother would enjoy his favorite meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans. A celebration of his life will be Wednesday, March 25th at 10:00 am at Floral Haven Chapel followed by a reception. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, March 24th from 5 pm to 8 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
