Granma did so much for our family! She was chief babysitter when Gary and I traveled. She was always happy to travel the turnpike between Tulsa and Edmond to help out. She was an early supporter of QVC and as a frequent shopper, she generously anticipated what we might need and made sure we got it. Every year she made sure our children had the opportunity to check out the Sears and Roebuck catalogue and make their Christmas wish list. Her advice in the kitchen was spot on, and I still prepare many of the dishes that she served for years…Mac and Cheese anyone? Or the pumpkin bread that she made for her church family on many occasions?
But so much more important than the material gifts she shared was the love wrapped in every gift. Family was the most important thing in her life and her support has been constant and unwavering. Her generosity of self and spirit has been inspiring. Though we grieve the loss of her physical presence, we will always remember the energy, the laugh, the hugs, the advice and the love. May she rest in peace knowing that in her long life she touched the hearts of so many.
