Doretha Louise Doublin's Obituary
Doretha Louise Doublin, 104, a lifetime Tulsa resident, died peacefully at home May 20, 2022.
Born June 27, 1917, in Tulsa, she attended Tulsa Public Schools and retired from the Tulsa
Board of Education where she worked in the accounting department.
She married Dawson L. Doublin in 1940 and was a devoted wife and mother. She was a
longtime member of Epworth United Methodist Church and she was a loyal supporter of OU
Sooner Athletics. She was known as “Dot” by many of her friends.
Doretha is survived by her son Gary D. Doublin and wife Patty, daughter Judy K. Doublin,
grandchildren Jennifer Kating and husband Clarence, Derek Doublin and partner Vanessa
Bonet, and Daniel Doublin and wife Brianne, and great-grandchildren Jackson, Dawson and
Kamdyn Kating and Ardin and Imogen Doublin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dawson, her sister Nadine Ehlers, and her parents
W.K. and Effie Mae Shackelford.
Services celebrating her long and loving life will be at Floral Haven Cemetery on Wednesday,
May 25 at 12:30 p.m.
