I remember Shirley and Earl's wedding held, I believe, in Aunt Pet's home. I was only 7 or 8 years old and I remember my little sister and I wore our beautiful, white majorette boots with the white tassels. Earl wore his military uniform (if I remember correctly) and Shirley was the most beautiful bride. They were a handsome couple.
Earl presided at my mother's graveside service in 2013. I pray that the Holy Spirit comforts you and floods you with precious memories. I am sad that I won't be able to attend the services but I will remember you all in my prayers.
Sincerely, Linda Pruett Gerard
I consider Bro. Earl MY pastor. He is much more than a preacher...he is a PASTOR. He did so much more than sit behind a desk and prepare sermons. He was out in the community visiting the members of our congregation whether they were at home, in the hospital, or nursing home. You could always call him and get hold of him for help, encouragement, or prayer. He is a true servant of the Lord. He is a Godly man and a man of God. He is a true shepherd to his members and tended to their needs no matter the place or time of day. He did so many things for me and my family in the 17 years he was at Calvary Baptist Church...baptized me 2 times, married my husband and I, buried my daddy, dedicated my baby, remarried my mother to her husband, and spent countless hours with us at church, home, camp, etc. I love him so much and miss him terribly. God bless Bro. Earl. Thank you for giving to the Lord! I am a life that is changed!
Love, Kyle Ann Shipley
