Edwin Wiley Parker II's Obituary
Edwin Wiley Parker II passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Inverness Village, Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is predeceased by his parents Dr. Edwin W. Parker and Mildred Wallace Parker. He was born July 11, 1939 in El Paso, Texas.Edwin received a B.S. degree in Accounting from Oklahoma City University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law. His legal career took him to Tennessee, Georgia, Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma, from the smallest courtrooms to successful arguments before the United States Supreme Court.Edwin, with his wife, was instrumental in founding the Union High School Band Parents Association. He was a member of Rock Lodge A.F. & A.M, Past Patron of Tuloma O.E.S., and served on the advisory board of the W. Mark Sexton, Order of Rainbow for Girls. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and the Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Tennessee and Kansas Bar Associations.Edwin is survived by his Kappa Alpha Rose of 57 years, Anna Lynne Stewart Parker; daughters Jennifer Anne Joyce of Tulsa (husband Robert J. Joyce) and Margaret Elizabeth Valenti (husband James N. Valenti) of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren Leigh Anne McLarty, Mary Joyce, Sophia Valenti and Nicholas Valenti; sister Carolyn Odom (husband Wayne Odom) of Allen, Texas and sister- in- law JoAnn Geist (husband Dallas Geist) of Rocky Ford, Colorado.We would like to give our thanks and appreciation to the men and women of Miller Hospice, Heather Hall and Inverness at Home who gave Edwin and his family such great care.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the John 3:16 Mission in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
