Erah Carolyn Coday's Obituary
Erah Carolyn Coday, age 84, known affectionately by all as Carolyn, passed from this life on June 5, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on June 29, 1941, in Seagraves, Texas, to her parents Robert Liston (R. L.) Hunt and Doris (McConal) Hunt.
Carolyn graduated from Loop High School in Loop, Texas. From there she attended Lubbock Christian College and continued on to Abilene Christian College, where she earned her teaching degree. It was there that she met Bill Coday. They were married in August, 1962 before beginning their senior year. After graduating they moved to Tulsa, OK where they spent the rest of their nearly 64 married years together.
A woman of many talents, Carolyn was an exceptional seamstress, a gifted cook, enjoyed fishing with Bill, and was a natural teacher. She shared her gifts generously, especially as a beloved Bible school teacher, where her ability to keep children of all ages captivated while teaching endless Bible stories shone bright. Her sense of humor, quick wit, and joyful presence made her a delight to all who knew her.
Carolyn loved her family fiercely and proudly. She never gave up on anything or anyone. Her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she celebrated every accomplishment, big or small. She was always happy to attend any performance, ball game, or awards ceremony involving them.
Carolyn lived a life defined by her Christian faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. To her grandchildren and to many other children who adored her she was simply “Honey,” a name that perfectly captured her warmth, sweetness, and gentle spirit.
Her legacy is one of quiet strength, devotion, creativity, and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Bill Coday; daughter Julie Vasicek and her husband Dennis; son Kelly Coday and his wife Summer; son Justin Coday and his wife Melanie; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A visitation to come and pay your respects to Carolyn will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Floral Haven Funeral Home from 4pm - 7pm. A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Floral Havens Rose Chapel at 2pm. She will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
