Eunice was one of my favorite (favorite, favorite) people at OLLI @ OSU. She was an inspiration to me. She celebrated and embraced learning and she was so thankful to have the opportunity to continue her education. I cried when I learned Eunice passed – it was so shocking to think this healthy, vibrant woman was gone. There was something special about Eunice – she had a kindness of spirit that few people possess. Eunice was more than a coworker to me. She was my friend and 4 years ago she became my son's honorary god mother. I remember 10 days after he was born, 6 weeks early, she took me by the hands and said, girl don't you listen to those Dr's that boy will be fine, don't you bring negative thoughts in your mind and there won't be any negativity. I'm pretty sure soon after that she started buying him books, she was gonna help us make that boy smart. I don't mean 1 book here or there but sometimes 15 that she got at goodwill, always worried about picking the price sticker off. We shared many laughs and cups of hot tea throughout the years, and I'm going to miss her tremendously. Eunice I'm taking you off god mother duty, master jasper needs another angel watching over him. To her children I say thank you for sharing this wonderful woman with my family, my heart breaks for each of you. Light and love.
